DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are the preferred method of replacing teeth among both dentists and patients – and for good reason. Unlike other tooth replacement options such as bridges and dentures, dental implants both look and function like natural teeth.
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Dental implants consist of a small post made of a biocompatible metal, like titanium, that is surgically implanted into your jaw. Once you have healed, a piece called an abutment is then attached to the implant, and the part that everyone sees, the crown, is attached to the abutment. This complete system creates a lifelike artificial tooth that is permanently imbedded in the jaw.
